January 2008 Archives

While I was sending SY to the airport today, I spotted this black 3 series BMW.

Now, the car looked pretty good and all, but what really got to me was this fellow's blatant disregard for the law. Hey not to be nit-picking with this fellow, but it seems that there are really quite a lot of these fellas around in Malaysia.

Now I only snapped this fella with my phone camera as that was the only camera I had with me.

What annoyed me was that his number plate, even while I was directly behind him - was so dim and unreadable. Note that I have not 'Photoshop-ed' the picture and that really is how his number plate area looked.

Now again, I'm not single-ing this fella out, and the point is that a lot of expensive car owners seem to have this attitude with their vehicles. Do they ever get caught?

Tony Roma's Sunway Pyramid

OK. These Western restaurants are everywhere. I knew it was inevitable that eventually I will be dropping by one of these famous franchise restaurants.

Tony Roma's is another American franchise restaurant that is mushrooming all over Malaysia. In other parts of the world, their specialty is their pork ribs, but because they want to ensure that this restaurant is 'halal' friendly here, beef is the substitute.

My cousin was kind enough to give us a treat at the Sunway Pyramid outlet. So how does this place rate against the likes of TGI Friday?

Let's find out.

Panties for Men?

Panties for your man

OK, now I have heard a lot of weird things lately but this I just had to share.

I was blog hopping during lunch and stumbled upon this on the All Seeing Eye.

Now, looking at the title at first glance I didn't really think much about this but after reading about it, I didn't really know what to say.

Especially when I looked at the picture of the so called "Manties" as it is known... which you can see if you continue reading.

Basic Wall Course - Done!

After going to Camp 5, One Utama last time for a taster session for rock climbing I have been contemplating taking their basic wall course since.

The basic wall course is pretty much a basic course for beginners to get to know rock climbing and give you all the needed basics to start doing it properly and most importantly, safely.

Yesterday, while everyone else was partying away during the Awal Muharram public holiday, I took the opportunity to attend the course together with pretty much the same crew I went with last time.with the exception of Shereen, which was replaced with Aaron who was there for the first time.

The course ran for 4 hours plus (almost 5 to be exact), and covered quite a bit - with about 1 hour of theory. The course covered all the basics, how to tie the right knots for yourself when you are climbing and while you are belaying someone. Belaying is basically what you are doing when you are the person at the bottom holding and supporting the rope that is tied to the person climbing. As a belayer you'll have to be able to lower the person down when the person wants to come down.

Oh and they even gave me a certificate. Now I can go around climbing things and I can say I know what I'm doing.

Every morning I'm at the gym. I will do my thing, go back to the changing room and hop into the shower.

Now my gym has a pretty clean changing room, and I'm pretty happy with that. In fact, I really love the place especially so that when I need a convenient location to shower after work I can just drop by.

Here's a picture of my gym changing room, note they have this cushion thing in the middle of the locker area.

The one thing that really really gets to me, and annoys the crap out of me is this.

There is this ONE guy that goes to my gym - now this guy, he'll work out like every other person, showers like every other person... BUT after his shower he LOVES sitting on the cushion with just his towel wrapped around the waist - sitting cross legged on the bloody cushion, and reads the newspaper after his shower.

Happy New Year!

Yup, this is probably a few days late, but what the heck, it's 2008 - sounds like a fantastically prosperous year (that's my Chinese side talking), so Happy New Year!

I had a quiet one with Joshua, SY and my sis and her other half in Bagan, Penang to welcome in the new year.

Oh, and to welcome in the new year, I decided to give myself a new hair-do as well. Well, a new hair colour to be exact! Heheh.
