Political wind of change

| 3 Comments | No TrackBacks

Yesterday was finally the day obviously a lot of Malaysians have been waiting for. The official voting day had finally come. I flew back from KL early in the morning just to join the crowd - to cast my vote for what was hopefully a better change for our beloved country that we have all grown up in.

Now, to be honest, I had no idea who was actually standing in my area - who it was didn't really matter, as I was already confident which party I would be voting for.

After a hearty breakfast, I went along with my parents to our designated polling station to cast our votes.

At the entrance to the school we were of course greeted by volunteers and workers from the Election Commission, which directed us to the classrooms to cast our votes.

I proceeded to the classroom that my name had corresponded to in their system. The policeman on duty there obviously didn't like having his picture taken. I was really glad he allowed me to take pictures anyway so I wasn't really complaining.

Just like to take the opportunity to wish all my readers Gong Xi Fa Cai and may this year be a prosperous and wonderful one for you and your family.

A lot of people forecast this year as a year of many challenges - but all I can say is this. No matter what challenges there are - we will get through it and there will be many blessings that come with any challenges and hurdles we have to cross.

So look forward to the positives and let us celebrate this Chinese New Year with our families and loved ones and not take anything for granted.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Basic Wall Course - Done!

After going to Camp 5, One Utama last time for a taster session for rock climbing I have been contemplating taking their basic wall course since.

The basic wall course is pretty much a basic course for beginners to get to know rock climbing and give you all the needed basics to start doing it properly and most importantly, safely.

Yesterday, while everyone else was partying away during the Awal Muharram public holiday, I took the opportunity to attend the course together with pretty much the same crew I went with last time.with the exception of Shereen, which was replaced with Aaron who was there for the first time.

The course ran for 4 hours plus (almost 5 to be exact), and covered quite a bit - with about 1 hour of theory. The course covered all the basics, how to tie the right knots for yourself when you are climbing and while you are belaying someone. Belaying is basically what you are doing when you are the person at the bottom holding and supporting the rope that is tied to the person climbing. As a belayer you'll have to be able to lower the person down when the person wants to come down.

Oh and they even gave me a certificate. Now I can go around climbing things and I can say I know what I'm doing.

Every morning I'm at the gym. I will do my thing, go back to the changing room and hop into the shower.

Now my gym has a pretty clean changing room, and I'm pretty happy with that. In fact, I really love the place especially so that when I need a convenient location to shower after work I can just drop by.

Here's a picture of my gym changing room, note they have this cushion thing in the middle of the locker area.

The one thing that really really gets to me, and annoys the crap out of me is this.

There is this ONE guy that goes to my gym - now this guy, he'll work out like every other person, showers like every other person... BUT after his shower he LOVES sitting on the cushion with just his towel wrapped around the waist - sitting cross legged on the bloody cushion, and reads the newspaper after his shower.
